- George Wilfong was enumerated as head of household. (There are two George Wilfongs on this page; I'm assuming the first one is Major George, because the age of the oldest household members fit him and Mary Poffh). The household includes one male under 10, one male 26-44, one male 45+ (likely George), one female 10-15, one female 16-25, and one female 45+ (likely Mary Poffh).

Notes |
- The family came over in 1734 in the St. Andrew Galley and
settled in the Goshenhoppen area of PA, now Montgomery County. Coming to
NC were two brothers, George and Jacob Wilfong. George, or Major George
Wilfong married Mary M. Poffh, and had only two sons: John and Peter.
Jacob Wilfong died fairly young, married Elizabeth Jacobs, and his will was
made in 1769. He lived on a beautiful spot known as "the Elbow" just west
of Maiden, NC off the Startown Road. Jacob Wilfong left only one son,
George Wilfong. His will asks his brother, Major George Wilfong, to have
his son taught both German and English.
Major Geroge Wilfong was the guardian of his nephew, George Wilfong.
This George Wilfong, s/of Jacob, married twice, the first time to c1788
Catherine Elizabeth Shuford, the daughter of John Shuford, and the 2) 3
Nov. 1803 to Susannah Suratt.
Sally Wilfong the d/of George Wilfong and Catherine Elizabeth Shuford,
married 19 Dec. 1814 Peter Clodfelter with Jacob Stilwell as bondsman.
