Name Susannah PERKINS Born 1752 [1] Gender Female Died 17 Nov 1840 [1] Person ID I1456 Kendrick-Hemphill Last Modified 3 Jul 2010
Family Captain Thomas LYTLE, b. 6 Jun 1750, Anson County, North Carolina , d. 31 May 1835, Burke County, North Carolina (Age 84 years) Married 1772 [1, 2, 3, 4] - While, some sources say that Captain Thomas Lytle was married to Susannah Patillo, I don't think this is accurate. A Thomas Little (Lytle) did marry a Susannah Petillo in Tryon or Lincoln county, however that marriage took place in 1783, after the Revolution, which would discount the stories referring to her during the war (although to be fair, none of the stories referencing "Mrs. Lytle" mention a first name, so it's possible he was married more than once).
Additionally, the book _Revolutionary War Soldiers of Western North Carolina_ says he was married to Susannah Perkins and that the marriage took place in Rowan County.
However, their first recorded child was born in 1784, which argues for the Susannah Petillo marriage in 1783.
